Alpha 10 - Volume - VMI

Volume Momentum Indicator (VMI)

We measure the difference in the number of contracts bought at the offer versus sold at the bid, then plot this like a candlestick chart with an open, high low, and last. We then offer input to average these values like a smooth chart to smooth out the chart. But when it is up and sell when it is down. It is that simple.

Volume Delta is the difference between buying and selling power. Volume Delta is calculated by taking the difference of the volume that traded at the offer price and the volume that traded at the bid price. If delta is greater than 0 you have more buying than selling pressure.

See true momentum based on Volume Delta.
